Imagine 2012 @ Public Works

The Incrediball

12 people were selected from different Spanish companies and universities and became part of a creativity program called Imagine, ideas to change the world. These "dreamers" came from diverse backgrounds and worked during the month of July in Silicon Valley developing ideas around four projects to be presented to angel investors (and me, of course).  One group's project was tackling the issue of providing additional education to impoverished children. They presented a soccer ball that had a hidden projector in it for any flat surface, that was wirelessly linked to educational movies and games. This entertainment was run and stored by energy that was powered by playing with the soccer ball. It was called the "Incrediball" -obviously.

I came, I crashed, I dreamed... an evening of Imagining.

Sameerfest 2012 @ The Innovation Lab

Wednesday, July 20th
4:00pm-2:00am

Happy Birthday to Sameer... Who is Sameer?
I met the Founder/CEO of RivalMe the same evening I was celebrating his 31st birthday. Known for his Prohibition Sameerfest, he served over 75 gallons of his famous tea cocktail comprised of coconut, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, organic black tea and rum. Full of vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants, he claimed Prohibition Tea will never give you a hangover -this is true... but it will also never get you drunk. I'm not sure how much rum was actually in there, but it did accompany the indian food and RivalMe trivia quite well. RivalMe is a comprehensive, nationwide, gaming platform for college students and alumni, to earn the same kind of glory for their school that the NCAA athletes receive, while competing for cash prizes and scholarship funds. The major prize of the night was a private tea party with Aziz Ansari. RivalMe is poised to become the world's leader in intellectual gaming.

Western Union

Western Union
Wednesday, July 11th, 2013
5:30-8:30

This is me with Hikmet Ersek...

What am I doing with the CEO of Western Union?

Western Union, a Fortune 500 Company is a global leader in cross-border money transfer. They threw the doors open of their new SF office of Western Union Digital Ventures, the online and mobile payments arm and I walked right in to help them celebrate. I grabbed a vapor-infused cocktail, a few glasses of wine, some hors d'oeuvres and even donated to a local charity when I was there. Western Union built the first transcontinental telegraph in 1861 and now they intend on being a leading player in the next era of digital cash and payments technology by reinventing and expanding money transfer business for the mobile age. It was some good times with the boys of the banking world and they're currently hiring.

CRASHED IT... For the next generation of products, as mobile grows in importance.

This Moment

This Moment @ View Lounge
in Marriott Hotel

Thursday, June 28th
7:30pm-Midnight

This Moment hosted an event in which I landed myself some of these free drink tokens. Their business slogan is, "Engage Everyone, Everywhere, Easily." This company builds engagement experiences through leading digital media properties, applying that knowledge with their latest creation -the Distributed Engagement Channel (DEC). Not exactly sure what this DEC entails, but they did keep their promise by engaging me -with their free drinks.

Cocktails with the UNIFIED Team @ Local Edition

Thursday, June 28th

I have no idea who the UNIFIED Team is, nor what they represent, but I was at their event celebrating something. This card is an artifact that I found in my pocket the morning after I hung out with this mysterious group.
I appreciated the cocktails (and shots I believe)

Google

Google I/O 2012 Party @ The Cartoon Art Museum

Thursday, June 28th
5:00pm-9:00pm

There was an idea to bring together a group of remarkable developers at Google I/O, so when they needed them to help build the mobile enterprise, they could fight the battles traditional software never could... and we could all party.

The innovators assembled! They called on me, being one of earth's mightiest enterprise developers attending Google I/O, to join them for an exclusive party at the Cartoon Art Museum. Set against a fantastic backdrop of original comic book art and memorabilia, it was the perfect place to mix it up with Android developers, enterprise thought leaders and visionaries. I joined them and discovered why there's no better time than now to innovate in the cloud, and no better place to get started than at Google I/O.

Drinks and appetizers were served.
